President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, who commenced a state visit to the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was accorded official reception ceremonies upon the arrival of his motorcade, accompanied by His Highness the President, at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. The procession was escorted by a group of horsemen and camel riders, in addition to Emirati folk art groups.
His Highness the President then led the guest of the country to the dais of honour, where the national anthems of both the UAE and Kuwait were played, a contingent of the honour guard was assembled, and a 21-gun salute was fired to welcome His Highness' visit. Groups of children waving the flags of both countries were also lined up.
The UAE's Al Fursan aerobatics team flew over Qasr Al Watan, forming a depiction of the flag of the State of Kuwait in the sky.
Moreover, landmarks and streets in the capital were adorned with Kuwaiti flags and welcoming banners in honour of the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs at the Presidential Court; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology; Jassim Mohammed Buataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Finance Department and Member of the Executive Council, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Member of the Executive Council; Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDGE, and Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait.
The UAE President greeted the delegation accompanying the Emir of Kuwait, which includes sheikhs, senior officials, and Jamal Al Ghunaim, Ambassador of Kuwait to the UAE.
